Rehabilitation means reshaping lives and restoring lost abilities after an illness or injury.
It means treating the whole patient: physically, emotionally, and socially. In rehabilitation, the goal is to return patients to their optimum level of function, so that they may have a better quality of life.
At Riverview, residents are assisted in their goals for recovery. Following an evaluation of the resident’s abilities, an individualized rehabilitation program is developed to address the resident’s mobility, performance of activities of daily living, communication skills and swallowing function. Often residents come to Riverview for a short-term stay to rehabilitate, and are able to return to their homes after completing the therapy program.
We also offer a wide range of outpatient services, including occupational, speech or physical therapy. Services can be set up by contacting either our administrative offices or your doctor’s office.
The length of a person’s rehabilitation is determined by the person’s abilities and determination and their physician, with the assistance of trained therapists and Riverview staff.
